WHAT TO WEAR:
I get it, this is probably going to be the most stressful part for some families and couples, but I don’t want you to stress! Styling a session is one of my favorite aspects of planning it! Start by picking one person’s outfit that you really like and go from there.Â
Coordinating colors, patterns and textures is what will bring your wardrobe together! I recommend picking 2-3 main colors for your group. This will allow some flexibility when dressing everyone else. Also, remember that every outfit does not have to incorporate all of the colors that you have chosen. My favorite way of styling is to find a few neutral colors (while staying away from bright white), and add one pop of color or a pattern with a few individual pieces. It is most important to remember to make it your own! This session is about you, it is important to make sure your personalities shine through in every way. Nebraska weather is so fun, but we all know that it could be 50 degrees one morning, then in the 80’s and humid the next. Be prepared to be flexible in case you have to switch up outfits last minute.
I have put together a Pinterest board for inspiration for you while planning outfits, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you want any advice, I’d love to help! https://pin.it/6Mw1pC9
THE DAY OF YOUR SESSION:
These mini sessions are only 15 minutes so be sure to arrive 5-10 minutes early to give yourself plenty of time for last minute issues that may arise. Mini Sessions are scheduled back to back and any amount of time that you’re late will directly impact the length of your session and number of images you may receive.
Give yourself plenty of time to get ready. Rushing to the location while doing your makeup in the car will most likely result in a stressed feeling during the session.
Make sure your everyone is well-rested, fed and ready to go! Avoid being hungry! This could make for some cranky adults, or worse..hangry toddlers.
If you have kids, consider bringing a favorite toy for your children to play with. I may need it to hold to try and make your little one smile. I also recommend bringing some snacks and water.
Lastly, remember to have fun and relax! It is so important that you enjoy the experience. It shows up in pictures if someone just isn’t having it.
GALLERY & DELIVERY:
As I edit, you may see one or two images on Instagram or Facebook as a sneak peek! The turnaround time for the mini session gallery is 7-14 days, but I try to get them to you as soon as possible. Each gallery will include at least 15 images as long as we are able to start at your scheduled time.
Your gallery will be delivered to you via email. The images are high resolution so you will be able to post to social media as well as print them for your home! When you post your images to social media I just ask you to please credit Farmer’s Wife Photography with a tag or comment when doing so.
